Clinically referred to as augmentation mammoplasty, the procedure is cosmetically used to:

  • Enlarge a naturally small breast, most commonly the result of heredity
  • Restore breast volume lost following pregnancy, as a result of breast-feeding or weight loss
  • Achieve better symmetry when breasts are moderately disproportionate in size and shape
  • Available in silicone and saline

The most common incisions Dr. Albert uses to perform breast augmentation are:

  • the periareolar area (the pigmented skin surrounding the nipple)
  • an inframammary incision (underneath in the breast fold)
  • an axillary incision (in the underarm area)

Dr. Albert is a clinical investigator for the FDA approved silicone implant research study. This limited study allows him to use the new generation “gummi-bear” implants in patients who meet the approved criteria.
